About the Trainer
Saria Hassan is Solicitor and Legal Manager at Bail for Immigration Detainees (BID). Her work focuses on representing people in both immigration removal centres and prisons who should be considered unsuitable for immigration detention by virtue of their past experiences of torture, trafficking and/or their complex health needs. This also includes ensuring that both accommodation and support needs are met for those released from detention.
BID is an independent charity that exists to end immigration detention in the UK. They work towards their mission through the provision of legal advice, information and representation alongside research, policy advocacy and strategic litigation. BID works closely with AVID and AVID members, offering vital support including representation and working with people in detention who do not have a lawyer to make bail applications.
